Message to our "leaders" on both sides of the aisle. No matter whether you be democrat, republican, or independent, we all need to remember that no party is more patriotic than the other. Enjoy Red Skelton's explanation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Repo 105 / And the need for Oversight and regulation of the Financial IndustryAfter reading a report on CNN about the fall of Lehman Brothers, the article referenced an accounting practiced called Repo 105. I did a search on Repo 105 because I wanted to know what it was. Well this is what I found. After reading several pages, I thought we dealt with this problem when we the government implemented Sarbane/Oxley. After reading several pages of this report filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court Southern District of New York. I feel the need of regulation and oversight is greatly needed. Without regulation and oversight you have no checks and balances. 'Biggest Loser' candidateCheck out Logansport resident Ben Colsten's Biggest Loser Audition Video: One of the factors in getting on the show is how much traffic the video draws, so tell your friends to check it out! What else do you expectwhen the WSAL people and others decide to pull the plug on something that they think is stepping on other people's toes or is not to their liking, etc. So much for fair play---thorns to WSAL!
WSAL wimps outWSAL has cancelled the " Brad and Worley" sportstalk show. Not sure why. The show was harmless, entertaining, and fun, if you like sports. There was nothing controversial about the show, especially when you compare it to other WSAL programs such as Rush Limbaugh. Callers had the opportunity to call in and voice their opinions about many different sports related topics. Evidently a few local citizens may have complained due to possible personality conflicts with the shows hosts.
Ugly TruthThere are times when some things shouldn't be said or discussed even though it is the truth because it can be hurtfull or demeaning to others. I don't, in any way, want to be hurtfull nor demeaning to anyone and yet the problem is so important for us to fix that I think all points of view should be heard. So please forgive me.
Lt. Cathi Collins, Fine OfficerThis is a little late but, better late than never. While reading the PTs coverage of a 1994 unsolved rape that appears to be on the verge of being solved due in no small part to the efforts of Logansport Police Lt. Cathi Collins, I remembered that I owed her a "tip of the hat". The honest citizens of Cass County are VERY fortunate that this fine, hard-working, and dedicated Officer is a member of the Logansport Police Dept. I have met her several times and she has my deepest respect. For the criminal element in general and the sexual criminals in particular, Lt. FanaticsWant to see how nuts people are getting today? Try this one out. "Don't you just love it? Chickie boom, chickie boo-boo-boom."
