Consolidation?

A while back there was an article in the Pharos Tribune regarding the problems with the two different databases used by the County Sheriffs Department and the City Police Department.

It seems that the City Police Department is reluctant in giving up its Spellman database and switching to the County Sheriffs Department database under the new consolidated 9-1-1 emergency center. This feud is causing a considerable rift amongst the 2 law enforcement agencies.

Dogs

I recently read two Letters to the Editor involving a dog on Bates Street across from Franklin School. One was from the owner complaining that people had called the police on her and her dog many times for her dog being Loose and on school grounds. The other was from a person who has had, or knows people, who's children have been bitten by dogs and asks for more police action. What seems amazing is the reaction and beliefs of people about this and other dogs.

Congratulations Deputy Mayor Linda Klinck

Her efforts are certainly worthy of recognition. We have a long way to go, but I believe she is trying really hard now just as she did for years outside the mayor's office to revitalize downtown.

swine flu shots

the lackadaisical distribution of the swine flu shots by the fedral government is very disturbing. after all the president has declared this a national emergency. if this is any indication of how government run health care will work then i want none of it.

Snakes in the grass

I think their are many more terrorists in this country than we are aware of of and they are just bidding their time to strike again.

sonic

made a big mistake by closing in the winter. theyd be way busier now since b and k's and sycamore are closed. if anything they should close in the summer and stay open in the winter. another poor management decision by executives who are from out of town and have no clue about logansport.

It is disappointing that the president will not call this an act of terrorism wich it clearly was. The war on terror is not over and i am sure the islamic fanatics are busy planning another hideous attack. I do not believe we are being told the whole story here. When this story broke we were told there were three gunman, not one. They reported that two were killed and one survived. Now we are expected to believe that one man with two pistols killed or wounded over fifty people. This would be a difficult thing to do in a civilian area, let alone on a military base.

Japan trips and probably others

Hello bloggers. I normally don't respond to the blog because I feel I am one of the most accessable mayors this community has had. The office is open until 5:00 p.m. every night later most of the time. I hold a mayor's coffee the first Saturday of each month at various locations the coffee is furnished by either the business or by me. Now for the Japan trips, my wife has NEVER gone with me, and if she ever would I would pay her way. As for the so-called "tagalongs," they paid their own way. It cost the tax payers nothing for them to go to Japan.

Another trip--and for what reason??

I understand Mayor Fincher is going to make another expedition to Japan. This will be his third mission. He is also taking his wife this time around and of course the usual entourage of tag-a-longs. Guess who will be paying all the tabs for this? Well, of course, we are, the taxpayers right here in river city!
