I love small town living! I know a lot of people complain about Logansport; there's nothing to do, nowhere to shop, and everybody's in your business. Well I can tell you there are certainly advantages, as we experienced last week. The city decided it was time to re-pave our road, which would temporarily cut us off from town until they were finished. The Street Commissioner, Mr. Donald Crain, notified our neighbors during the day, but we weren't home. So at 7:30 that evening, he came pulling into the driveway with his wife in tow, to let us know about the street closure. He wanted to make sure we knew what was happening, and also asked what time we would be out of the house so his crews could accomodate us.

On top of that, once the work was done our mailbox was laying in our yard. Mr. Crain was at my door immediately, saying the paving company was responsible and he would make sure they fixed it, and if they didn't the city would cover it. Later that day, the mailbox was repaired and standing once again. I don't know who took care of it, but I was thankful they did.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the personal service we received from Mr. Crain and the other city employees involved in this project. I'm quite sure you wouldn't receive the same courtesy in most cities larger, or even the same size, as Logansport. So here's to you Don Crain. Thanks for taking your personal time to give us the heads up, and for all the other little things you do for the citizens of Logansport that might go unnoticed and unappreciated.
